Zombie Barricade
Three barricade sections, a hammer, a gun and never enough time to use both properly.
Zombie Defense is the cleanest expression of the defense idea on this site: one objective, dead centre, and zombies that walk straight past you to reach it. You have complete freedom of movement and it will not save you, because the thing that dies is not you.
Protect the generator for as many waves as possible. The run ends when the generator's health reaches zero — your own health only matters because dying means you cannot defend.
| Action | Keyboard / mouse | Touch |
|---|---|---|
| Move | W A S D or Arrow keys | Left joystick |
| Aim | Move the mouse | Drag on the play area |
| Fire | Left mouse button or Space | Fire button |
| Repair | Hold E next to the generator | Hold the Use button |
| Pause | P or Esc | Pause button in the bar |
Pause with P or Esc, restart with R. The game pauses automatically if you switch tabs. Full details in zombie game controls explained.
The generator has its own health bar and no ability to defend itself. Zombies ignore you entirely unless you are physically between them and it, which produces the genre's defining discomfort: you can be perfectly safe and losing badly at the same time. New players often finish their first run at full health, having never been touched, wondering what happened.
Because the objective is central and threats come from all sides, the map is effectively a circle and your position on it is the only real decision. Standing anywhere covers one arc well and every other arc badly. Constant repositioning is not optional — it is the game.
Wave composition is designed to punish a static defender. Each wave arrives from two or three arcs simultaneously, and the gaps between arrival times are just long enough that a player who moves immediately can cover both, while a player who waits to see what happens can cover neither.
