Zombie Rush

Survival Easy WASD or joystick 1–4 minutes

Zombie Rush gives you nothing to fight with. There is no weapon, no dash, no shield — only movement, an open arena and a horde that grows steadily from every edge. Your score is how many seconds you lasted, and every one of those seconds was earned by standing somewhere better than where the zombies expected.

How to Play Zombie Rush

  1. Press Start. Zombies begin entering from the edges immediately.
  2. Move with WASD, the arrow keys, or the joystick on touch devices.
  3. You have no attack. Every threat must be avoided rather than removed.
  4. Collect green speed boosts for six seconds of extra movement speed.
  5. A single touch from any zombie ends the run.

Objective

Survive as long as possible. There is no scoring beyond time, and the run ends the moment any zombie touches you.

About Zombie Rush

Removing the weapon changes the whole psychology of survival. In an armed game, a zombie in front of you is a target. Here it is a wall, and walls can only be walked around. Players who come from shooters spend their first few attempts trying to solve problems that can no longer be solved, and the run improves dramatically the moment they stop.

Spawn rate and enemy speed both climb on a curve that flattens rather than rising forever. Around the ninety-second mark the game reaches something close to a steady state: dense, fast, but stable. That plateau is where good runs live, and it is why most players' best times cluster either well under a minute or well over two.

Speed boost pickups appear periodically and grant six seconds of increased movement. They are the only mechanic in the game beyond movement itself, and they are deliberately placed in awkward positions — usually deeper into the crowd than you would like — so that taking one is a real decision rather than free value.

Zombie Rush Tips & Strategy

  1. Run diagonally across the arena rather than along its edges. Edges remove escape routes.
  2. Cut between two zombies rather than fleeing from one. The gap between them is safer than the space behind either.
  3. Take a speed boost only if you can reach it without turning your back on a cluster.
  4. When the crowd thickens, stop tracking individual zombies and start reading the empty spaces.
  5. Long runs are made of small corrections. If you find yourself sprinting, you are already recovering from a mistake.
  6. The first ninety seconds get harder; after that it stabilises. Survive to the plateau and you can hold it.

Zombie Rush — FAQ

Is there really no way to fight back in Zombie Rush?
None at all. That is the point of the design — it isolates movement as a skill, the same way Zombie Target isolates aiming.
What is a good survival time?
Thirty seconds is a solid first session. Ninety seconds means you have found the plateau. Beyond three minutes is genuinely strong play. Your own best is stored locally so you can watch it climb.
Why do I keep getting cornered?
Almost always because you are running directly away from the nearest zombie, which walks you backwards into a wall. Our movement guide covers the fix in detail.
Does the difficulty ever stop increasing?
It flattens rather than stopping. Around ninety seconds the curve is close to its ceiling, so late-game difficulty is fairly stable.
